1 of the 5 new skills at Camp Ridgecrest 2009

Many camper and staff alike have compared this man to Jack Bauer from 24. The legend says that he can do anything. I’m here to tell you that the legend is true. And I want to share some other exciting news! We have recruited our very own Marty Quinn to teach a new skill this summer. This will be the first summer we will offer a Wood Working Skill in a very long time. An old tradition at camp that faded long ago has been brought back! And who better to lead the charge than our Facilities Director Marty! The skill will be held in the Camp’s wood working shop, also known as “Fort Marty,” right next to the lower green. Some of the projects will be smaller such as picture frames, as well as larger projects such as tables or planters that will be built and used right here around camp! What a cool way to leave your mark for years to come. Due to the tools used this skill is reserved for Choctaw and Arapaho campers.
