In honor of staff and SALT applications opening this week, here’s a look back at some of the staff in the 1970’s! This picture was taken of the Camp Ridgecrest for Boys staff in 1973. See anyone you recognize? Comment below!

Is that Rick Johnson in the upper left corner of the picture?
Yes, that is Rick with wife Ellen and son Brad.
I was a Sioux two-wk camper (the first year camp allowed a split session two weeks and also the last summer before the Sioux were split into Trailblazers and Country Clubbers-later known as the Arapaho). Doug Robinson (4th row back) was my counselor and Steve Little (back row middle) was Tribal Leader. Monroe Ashley (back row left) was director with his wife Roberta and holding daughter, Allison. They are beside Rick Johnson(Program Director) and wife Ellen with son Brad. At the other end of that row are Jay and Sandy Rhodes. Beside Steve Little to the right is Lee Davis and over two more is John Cooke. Barron Lee (Administrative Director) is in the middle with his wife and daughter. In the middle row is Jamie Cotton (2nd from left), Robert Hicks (two to the right of Jamie) and also Bob Strunk (3rd from right) and Dawson Sather (4th from right). On the second row from the right are Chappell (Peanut) Harris and David Tedford (he was my Tapout Little Chief on the trail the year before). I also see Brian King on 4th row in front of Brad Johnson but other names aren’t coming to me for certain. Thanks for the retro visit!
Rick Johnson was my councilor when I was in cabin 16. I belive it was in the summer of 1962, the second session. I was in the Choctaw Tribe at that time. The summer camp was divided up into two 5 week sessions and four tribes– Apache, Shawnee, Choctaw, and Sioux. Thanks for the picture!
