I-40 to Open Before Summer

Posted by phil

Attention Camp Parents! NCDOT has announced that the section of I-40, closed since a rockslide on October 25, 2009, should reopen April 27. The plan is for both east bound lanes to reopen, along with 1 west bound lane. The 2nd west bound lane will remain closed through the summer as work along the rock wall continues.

The total cost of the project is estimated to come in around $12.9 million, with approximately 80% being covered by the Feds. Hats off to NCDOT for getting this work done and the highway open before summer!

Camp will welcome it’s first campers of 2010  in about 7.5 weeks! Get excited…

First Round of Frisbee Golf

Posted by phil

Camp Ridgecrest - Middle GreenCamp Ridgecrest is finally free to the snow that was on the ground from before Christmas! Ron, Seth and Phil were anxious to get outside and enjoy the warm-ish weather. As you can imagine, after a long winter, we are excited to get out and have fun around camp!

With the long winter came lots of down trees and power lines around Camp. We’ve started our clean up process, but it’s sure to take us a few months to get camp looking like the beautiful place you all know and love.

With camp just around the corner, you should be getting your Camp Forms in the next few days! Rather than mail them home, your parents will receive an email where everything can be ordered online. Here are a few pictures of some of the clothing for this summer.

And finally, the Spring Ridgecrest Redskin will be in the mail this week. Get excited to see who’s coming back and what you have to look forward to this summer!

Hey Y’all!

It’s Seth, I have been on the road for the past week in the Commonwealth State (that’s Virginia, come on).  I was able to go to Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, and Liberty University to recruit some staff for this summer.  We only want the best staff, so we travel all over to find them!  I may have even seen one of your counselors.  On my trip I got to see:  Eli White, Ken Brown, Jason Browning, and Sam Pineda.  They told me to tell all of you hello through the Blog! Next week I leave to go on an 11 day trip to Florida, I hope it is sunny and warm down there. I want to get away from all this cold and snow!  I will let you guys know where I am going so if I am near you, leave a comment and maybe I’ll see you around!

2/9:  Clemson, SC
2/10:  Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL
