The Latest from Choctaw Hill’s Upgrade

Posted by anthologycreative

Even as temperatures continue drop around camp, construction continues on Choctaw Hill as workers are putting in long hours to improve the cabins. Cabins 10-16 are all being renovated and are getting a nice face-lift. The biggest thing you will notice is the nice, new, covered porches that each of the cabins have received. They are at different stages right now, but rather than trying to explain to you all of the changes, we thought it would be best to give you a quick snapshot of each of the cabins so that you can see the progress for yourself. Below you can see a picture of each cabin, in order from 10-16.

Improvements Continue on Choctaw Hill

Posted by anthologycreative

Construction and renovation continue on Shawnee and Choctaw Hill, as cabins begin to receive a face-lift. As you can see in these pictures, cabins 10, 11 and 12 are beginning to see new roofs and porches. You can also see how the porches on cabins 11 and 12 face the opposite direction from years past so that 11 faces Shawnee Hill and 12 faces Choctaw. Construction has begun on cabins 13 and 14, as they have lost their roofs and porches.

Cabins Get A New Look

Posted by Karah

Work crews were back to work after the holidays, despite the snowstorm that has been hitting Camp Ridgecrest. Eight of the nine cabins now have new siding up and are looking better than ever. Not only do they look great, but the new siding is made from a masonry board that will last for a very long time! Along with the new siding, the electrical work has been finished in many of the new cabins, and interior walls are beginning to be installed. The the interiors will be covered in rough wooden paneling, with clear Plexiglas strategically installed to serve as a window to the original walls and it’s signatures. It is almost like the signatures of old will be on display for the next generation of campers. (Pictures coming) The next step in construction will be painting the exterior of the cabins. Once the painting is done, cabin renovation will be near completion.
